'Botanical & Mixed Media Blends'
Being surrounded by a wealth of colour in the Forest of Dean, it’s no wonder I work on an ever-changing canvas.
Encaustic Wax:
Bees wax, damar resin, alongside mixed media and recycled objects, make the perfect combination. The word 'Encaustic' means to ‘burn in'. I use this technique, with bees wax, coloured pigments and oil paint. I create mini landscape and floral waxed bud vases and art. My vases make them the perfect gift, for loved ones or friends. My aim is to tell stories of my surroundings, with colour, movement and texture. Each little treasure do that, with their rugged texture and natural appearance of the forest, and will certainly complement any home. Wax is also associated as a 16th Wedding Anniversary, so this makes them even more desirable.
Cyanotypes:
This practice is an alternative photography process, whereby flowers & foliage are used to capture natures finest details with the aid of the sun. My designs are used to create elegant jewellery, making them an ideal natural gift from nature.
Digital Eco Print Ephemera:
This process is where natural plant specimens are boiled for a long period of time, allowing the intricate details of plant material to embed their line and colour onto natural papers. These are available in digital format, alongside 18th Century old french script, for all your scrapbook and junk journal needs.
