'Botanical & Mixed Media Blends'

Being surrounded by a wealth of colour in the Forest of Dean, it’s no wonder I work on an ever-changing canvas.

Encaustic Wax:
Bees wax, damar resin, alongside mixed media, recycled objects, oils and mark making; makes 'the perfect combination'. Encaustic painting was developed by the ancient Greeks and reached its highest level of technical mastery through the work of the genre painter Pausias in the 4th century. The oldest surviving encaustic panel paintings are the Romano-Egyptian Fayum mummy portraits from Egypt, around 100–300. The word 'Encaustic' means to burn in, burning wax with coloured pigments. I use this technique to create floral and landscape art on wood panels or glass. By manipulating wax and colour pigments, I aim to tell stories of my surroundings. Keep your eyes peeled for any 'hidden' treasures in my work. Every little treasure of art I produce, is unique, and will compliment any home or make it the perfect gift.

Cyanotypes:
Working with this alternative photography process, using flowers and foliage to capture natures beauty with aid of the sun. My designs are then transferred as ideal wall art, or created into wearable jewellery. All of my designs are unique, and, can never be repeated. I am also preparing to host workshops in 2026. So stay in touch for the latest details on the 'News' tab.
