For the past few years I have been creating botanical art using an alternative photography process, called, Cyanotypes. I currently hold workshops in Blakeney, in the Forest of Dean and sell the Cyanotype kits, which enables you to complete the process in your own home. My designs were very successful and enjoyed by many, with some being printed on yoga leggings, swimwear and more. However, I've decided to now pursue another discipline using Encaustic Wax as my main medium going forward.

Exciting news for this year!

This all came about after spending a wonderful week away on an art retreat in Portland, our host Lyn Kirkland teamed up with Julie Wrathall to create a UK based encaustic art group. I am so thrilled they did.
There are currently 33 artists now in the group based all around the UK.
Lyn and Julie created the online exhibition which involved 20 artists with up to 36 items available to see and potentially purchase.
There were several prizes to be won including a prize for the best Emerging Encaustic Artist, which was judged by Regina R. Quinn, the president of the IEA in America (International Encaustic Artists).
I was so delighted to learn that I had won the Emerging Encaustic Artist award. I was over the moon as you can imagine. To have my work recognized by such a prestige organisation.
I won with my entry called 'Forest Flame' - a waxed little bud vase highlighting the 'flame' I observe when 'seeing' through the forest......
We often look, but do not 'see',

Forest & Rivers Open Studios

They were established in 1995 and is a collective of diverse and talented artists who work, sell, exhibit and run art workshops in the Forest of Dean & along the Wye & Severn Rivers. International Encaustic Artists
I am so pleased to have joined the community of the International Association for Encaustic Artists. This provides more opportunity for me to increase my skills and gain more confidence using the amazing medium of bees wax and damar resin. There are more opportunities to enter online exhibitions and learn from some very talented Encaustic artists from around the globe.
