The Iron Road - Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail - Carved by Keir Smith

A lovely gift for someone wanting a reminder of their visit to the Forest of Dean.

Twenty evenly spaced railway sleepers placed on the gentle curve of a disused railway line bring the spirit of the Forest's industrial past to life. Skilfully carved out of the wood arebpoetic images of natural or industrial life-a feather, a leaf, a wheel, a factory or a cloud.

The wood is Eucalyptus called Jarrah, and the sleepers were obtained from the London underground.

A regular visit of mine, the sculpture trail, with my dog Teddy. I love jumping over these carvings and they are a beauty to see.

Painted on a recycled herbal tea bag in watercolour, with a touch of acrylics. I love the way the curve intices you in for a stroll.

Mounted on white banana paper and mount board, complimented the green & brown tones. The original tea has been placed in a bottle and secured inside the frame. This box frame measures 10 inch square.
