Rooted - Bud Vase
Hand painted wax bud vase
This has been lovingly created using carving techniques and india ink, wax and oil paints.
A natural cord of string adds to the rugged texture, alongside a 'Tree of Life' charm. This can be removed if you wish. All inspired by my forest surroundings.
The whole process requires wax paint, heat, more layers of wax, burnishing, lifting out, mark making, heat again on every layer and a final layer of oil paint, that highlights the crevices. The tree has been carved out and filled with india ink. The bottom of the vase is complimented with layers of coloured wax for the forest floor. A lovely process that I hope you appreciate.
The measurements are 2 and 1/4 square, 3 inches tall to include the neck and the opening to add flowers is 3/4 inches wide.
It's unique, and a one of a kind that cannot be repeated.
